When I scream out of rage
Some staff won’t engage
Others let me cry
Until my bad mood passes by
Then I can turn the page
This was seriously my first attempt at a limerick in I think it must be more than 25 years. I don’t honestly think it’s funny, but at least I gave the challenge a go. This one’s for Esther Chilton’s prompt, which is “rage”.
I enjoyed reading your limerick. You did very good writing with the topic of rage. Who’s to say all limericks have to be funny? The one I did took a kind of dark turn, too. 🙂

Aw, thank you. Even when I do use humor in my writing, it’s usually of the darker kind too.

You would’t know you hadn’t done one for that long. It’s great!

Oh, thanks so much! I am pretty sure my last limerick I did in elementary school, so that was closer to 30 rather than 25 years ago. My very first one, which I wrote in second grade, was in fact kind of funny in its nonsensical nature, but it’s in Dutch and translating it would probably mean I’d have to do away with its rhyme and rhythm.
